Why are we so passionate about our spring and the water that issues from it?
It’s because the spring’s exit point, the place where the water flows naturally from the ground, is 750′ above sea level, nearly 350′ higher than the surrounding terrain and near the highest point of the entire county.
Once you understand the anatomy of a spring, you’ll understand why the existence of these springs seems almost physically impossible. For a spring to exit the ground at this height without the existence of higher terrain being within a close proximity speaks volumes and, frankly, it’s simply unheard of.
When you understand the anatomy of a spring, you realize that where a spring exits the ground must always we lower than the area where the water enters the aquifer. In the case of our special spring, this would mean that the water would be coming from an extremely pristine mountainous terrain that is a phenomenal distance away from where the water flows out of the aquifer at our spring source. This means the distance this water travels is an EXTRAORDINARY! This means that the time it remains in the ground and the distance it travels allows the water to be purified and filtered by nature for an exceptionally long period of time and through an extraordinarily lengthy process.
This means the water may date back farther than possibly any spring on the planet in fact, in a Centennial tribute back in 1905 there was a special tribute made to the spring where recorded documents state…. “…one of the most remarkable springs ever discovered…”
